My Healthiest Disney Trip Ever!

Last week I had a magical time at Disneyland with my kids. Each time we go I am more impressed with the healthy options. For your kids, follow Mickey's Check System. Any item with a Mickey Check will have limited sugar, sodium and saturated fats. They must have a fruit and veggie, a low fat dairy, a whole grain and a lean protein.

For parents, the healthy choices were abundant. I had fresh mango off a fruit cart, a veggie and whole grain salad for lunch and some pretzels and hummus as a snack. I still had my favorite Dole Whip treat at the end of the day. A 1/2 cup serving is 90 calories, 2 grams of fat and 13 grams of sugar. I felt great the whole day!

Congratulations Disney on continuing to offer healthier choices for your patrons! Planning a trip to an amusement park soon? Check out their menus and plan your food strategy. Most don't offer such healthy choices so you may need to pack a lunch, or at least some healthy snacks. Bring lot's of water!
