Happy Monday Moms! I can't help smile when I read our Motivating Mom's story. Logan is as cute as a button and her entire post is so positive and upbeat! Read her story and feel the happy :)
**Tell us about yourself**
My name is Logan Robillard and I just turned 30. I am a stay at home mom and my son, Brick, is 16 months old. I am part of the Fit4Mom Savannah family. I found out about stroller strides through Facebook. I really wanted to find something I could do to get back in shape while having my son with me.
**You look amazing, tell us about your journey.**
I gained quite a bit of weight (60lbs) when I was pregnant. The first picture was taken after my first stroller strides class in November 2012. Since then I have lost 45lbs. The second picture was taken at the beginning of January 2014. It took me a little over a year but I've lost all the 60lbs I gained with my son thanks to stroller strides!
**What motivated you to make a change?**
I was really unhappy with the way I felt and how I looked. I wanted to get back in shape and feel better about myself so I could be happier for my family.
**Here is the question our moms are dying to know the answer to: What are you doing to get/stay so healthy!?**
Initially I was doing stroller strides 3x a week. I was seeing good results but I knew I needed to change my eating habits in order to really see the changes I wanted. I started eating healthier and controlling my portion sizes. I try to do some sort of exercise everyday whether it's going for a run/walk with my son or doing sit ups, push ups, plank etc once he goes to bed. I feel so much better if I get some sort of workout in everyday! I really try to go to class as often as I can. I need that group setting in order to hold myself accountable!
**It can be SO HARD to find “me” time when you are taking care of your family, how were you able to make these healthy changes and stick to them while still doing all of you other day to day duties?**
My husband is in military and is gone quite a bit so I use stroller strides as my "me" time. It was nice to be able to work out and have the support of other moms. It's the one part of my day where I focus primarily on me! I have days where I probably don't make the best healthy choices when it comes to my meals because we've had a busy day or I'm just too tired but I don't beat myself up over it. I definitely have found that going to class helps keep me on track with eating healthier as well.
**How do feel now? How has this changed your life?**
I feel wonderful! I'm so thankful that I found stroller strides. I know I wouldn't have been able to lose all the weight I had gained on my own. I feel so much more confident about myself. I can remember thinking when I first stared class that there was no way I would ever get rid of all the weight. It's truly empowering to know that I can do whatever I out my mind to! I have also made such amazing friends. The ladies in class have become some of my best friends!
**What are you most proud of?**
Honestly I am most proud of myself for not giving up. When I first started I was walking while everyone else was running and I got tired after doing very little! After a few weeks of consistently going to class I noticed I was able to start jogging and then eventually running. I have done several 5k's and even a mud run! I'm so proud of reaching my weightloss goal and not giving up when I wasn't seeing results as quickly as I wanted.
**What advice do you have for other moms who want to get healthy?**
It's not as hard as you think it's going to be! Everyone has to start somewhere so don't compare yourself to anyone else. If you put in the work and commit to yourself that you want to make the changes you can accomplish anything! Set backs are normal and no one is perfect! Just take it one day at a time :)
