Hillary Duff just posted this picture on her Instagram with over 8m followers, and we couldnt be more obsessed, because it showcases REAL MAMAHOOD. In case her bootyfull picture doesn't make you feel "normal", we also adore her caption:
"I am posting this on behalf of young girls, women, and mothers of all ages. I'm enjoying a vacation with my son after a long season of shooting and being away from him for weeks at a time over those months. Since websites and magazines love to share 'celeb flaws' - well I have them! My body has given me the greatest gift of my life: Luca, 5 years ago. I'm turning 30 in September and my body is healthy and gets me where I need to go. Ladies, lets be proud of what we've got and stop wasting precious time in the day wishing we were different, better, and unflawed. You guys (you know who you are!) already know how to ruin a good time, and now you are body shamers as well.
Let this be a reminder that you and your body are beautiful. You are not defined by a number on the scale, look of a stretch mark, dimple(s) of cellulite, or, in general, a body that changed post-baby. Because that body tells one heck of a story - a story of motherhood - and that is one of sacrifice, love, pride, and beauty. No matter if you're a size 00 and get shamed for being "too thin," a size 22 and get shamed for being "plus-sized," have flat abs or have belly skin that sags (hi, we do!), your motherhood and your body is just that; YOURS.
Here's to summer bikini bodies being DIFFERENT. Being REAL. and those "flaws" being anything but flawed. Here's to YOU, Mama. To the unflawed. May you have the confidence to shine bright, anytime, anywhere.
