Mind, Body, _________. Something is missing isn't it? I bet it's missing in your life too. Our minds get plenty of action. They are going non stop every waking hour of your day. Our bodies are probably getting some attention through exercise and eating right. But I'm willing to bet that most of us are missing the spirit in our life.

Spirit means different things to different people. For many, it might have a religious connotation. But for me, spirit is what gives life meaning. It's our heart, our love, our intuition. The dictionary defines spirit as the force within a person that is believed to give the body life, energy, and power. So the question is, are you taking care of your spirit? Probably not.

If I tell you to eat your veggies or get more exercise, it is quite clear what to do. But what does it mean to take care of your spirit? For some of you, it may be of religious nature. Reading the bible, prayer or services. Spirit is connecting with whatever is meaningful to you. When you tend to your spirit, you will find yourself with less anxiety, less pain, higher compassion and a better mood.

- Journal

- Connect with nature

- Connect with your religion

- Talk with others

Motherhood is a joyous time but often a stressful and chaotic time. We just try to survive instead of thrive. A small intention or time each day towards your spirit may provide a benefit that far outweighs the time or effort it takes. You will find that it's a key ingredient to living the vital, energized, happy life you so desire. And as always, it is a tremendous gift to model for your children.
